For new members, the prerequisites for lion dance training are:
- enthusiasm
- willingness to try
- teamwork
Once members reach a certain level of proficiency, they will be able to join the performance team during the year, taking the training to another level of experience. We have a lot of bookings during the year and there are lots of opportunities for new members to join in with the performing team. We sometimes have the opportunity to perform or train interstate or overseas.
Please wear soft soled runners (we prefer to wear black Dunlop canvas shoes) and Kung Fu pants or track pants to training. All instructors at Hong De Lion Dance Association are teaching on a voluntary basis, please respect our time and effort by turning up on time and participating in all the class activities.
Lessons are sometimes cancelled due to performances. Registered members will be notified of cancellations by email. Please check the website Calendar for recent updates or changes. Extra performance training sessions may be scheduled during the year when needed. There will be no training on Public Holidays or during the Chinese New Year performing season (February and March).
Fees
Membership Fee: $50 (Uniforms included)
We do not charge for lessons. Come along and try out a lesson with no obligation to join.

2 Hour free parking is available on Smith Street, long term parking along Alexander Parade.
